What Is An Empath

Growing up I always felt like I was highly tuned and picked up on the feelings around me. I just thought it was me being me. Until I realised I was an empath. So let’s talk about it… what actually defines an empath? An empath is someone deeply in tune with the emotions of

Cancer is a Lonely Journey

The Loneliness No One Talks About One of the biggest surprises on this journey of cancer has been the loneliness. Not because I don’t have support. I do. Incredible support. But because some parts of this experience are simply yours alone. No one knows what it feels like to sit in your body, make your

Worry = Effort With No Outcome

I used to worry about everything. Even when there was nothing to worry about… I’d find something. Over time, I’ve realised this: It’s simply the mind creating a story about a future that hasn’t happened, and may never happen. What surprised me most is the energy behind worry. When we worry about people we love,

Opinions are Best Served When Asked For

Soon after my 2015 diagnosis, I was with some work colleagues and shared my news. And… before I knew it, I was being flooded with advice. “You should try this treatment.”“You need to see this practitioner.”“You should take these supplements.” It came from a place of caring, I know that. People genuinely wanted to

Woman Trying on Wig

Whether you have experienced hair loss through Chemotherapy, medication, or menopause, there are some amazing options to have you feeling more like the you that you know.

Hair loss is one of those experiences that can feel… very confronting.
Not because it defines you, but because it’s visible. It’s often the moment things shift from internal to out there for the world to see.

And while we can’t always control what happens to our bodies during treatment, we can choose how we respond to it and take some positive steps.

This isn’t about pretending everything is fine.
It’s about knowing you have options. Beautiful, empowering, confidence-boosting options that can help you feel more like you along the way.

Let’s Start With Hair

Human Hair Wigs

If you’re looking for the most natural look and feel, human hair wigs are often the go-to. There have been so many advancements over the years, that today you can achieve amazing results. Human hair wigs move like real hair, can be styled with heat tools, and give you flexibility day to day.

Granted they can range from approximately $1,500 – $3,000 which is certainly an investment. However, for many women, they offer a sense of familiarity. Like catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and thinking, there I am. Plus you can have different ‘looks by having a few options to change colour and style depening on what you feel like on the day. You can have some fun with wigs!

Heat-Friendly (Synthetic) Wigs

These have come a long way also. Modern heat-friendly wigs look incredibly natural, are gentler on the budget, and hold their style even after washing.

Perfect if you want something low-maintenance that still gives you a polished look without the daily effort. Just make sure you follow the maintenance instructions as you must keep your heat tools under 180 degrees.

Human Hair & HF Synthetic Toppers

Toppers are a great option if you live in a warm climate, and are a beautiful middle ground. If you’re experiencing thinning rather than full hair loss, they clip into your existing hair to add volume and coverage.

They’re subtle, comfortable, and can be a gentle way to maintain your look without committing to a full wig.

It’s Not Just About Hair

Hair might be the most obvious change, but it’s not the only one.

Eyebrow Tattooing

Losing your eyebrows can really change how you see your face. Eyebrow tattooing (or cosmetic tattooing) can softly recreate natural-looking brows and bring back structure and expression.

It’s one of those small details that can make a big difference, helping you feel more like yourself when you look in the mirror.

3D Nipple Tattooing

For those who have had breast surgery, nipple tattooing can be a deeply personal and empowering step in the healing journey.

It’s not about vanity, it’s about wholeness.
About reclaiming your body in a way that feels right for you.

And the artistry in this space is incredible. Skilled practitioners can create beautifully realistic results that honour your body and your story.

This Is About Choice, Not Pressure

Just remember, there is no right way to do this. It’s about ‘you’. Not what other people think you should do.

Some people embrace the bald head and rock it with confidence. Others feel more comfortable with a wig, a topper, or cosmetic support. Most move somewhere in between depending on the day.

This isn’t about hiding.
It’s about honouring yourself.

If wearing a wig makes you feel strong, wear it.
If going without feels freeing, own it.
If drawing your brows on one day and tattooing them the next feels right, perfect.

Reclaiming Your Reflection

Cancer can feel like it takes a lot, but it doesn’t get to take you.

These options aren’t about trying to go back to who you were before.
They’re about supporting who you are now, in all your strength, vulnerability, and resilience.

So whether it’s a wig, a topper, a tattoo, or simply standing in front of the mirror and choosing to see your beauty anyway…

Know this:

You are still you.
Still whole.
Still powerful.

Just with options 💛
